Research 5 - André Elhay

André Elhay has done a photo shoot on film, showing vintage swimwear and outfits. This inspired me to think about other outfits, perhaps swimwear and have matching locations, a swimming pool.  For this  he used a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II + 110mm F/2.8 (camera), Kodak Portra 160 + 400, Fuji 3000b polaroid (films) and they were developed at RAW Digital Film Lab Sydney.  It also inspires me to try using film, this is because the grain and feel of the images add a vintage effect and could work well if i used a vintage outfit.

This image shows a model in swimwear, the location, a swimming pool adds more context to the image.
The location isn't over detailed so isn't distracting, this means the focus can be on the model.
Colours are very patriotic - UK.
Rule of third - model in middle
Sunglasses match the outfit, this inspires me to think about outfit choice and matching colours, both in the location and the model.
Also inspires me to think about composition and colour choices.
Also think about space around model - lots or little?

There is a big vintage feel to this image, perhaps added by the grain in the film and the outfit. 

Again, location looks like a swimming pool, its plain and again makes the model the focus.

Yes - Outfit needs to portray or show the viewer something.

Direct address can show confidence, no address can show shyness or that the model isn't bothered by the camera.
